Armenian Exodus from Nagorno-Karabakh (2023)
In September 2023, Azerbaijan launched a military offensive in Nagorno-Karabakh, triggering a massive exodus of the Armenian population. Over 100,000 Armenians fled their homes within days, fearing persecution. The historically Armenian-populated region was left virtually empty. International organizations described the event as ethnic cleansing. The humanitarian crisis reignited global concern over the fragile stability of the Caucasus region.
